Dine at Aura: Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar

Don’t feel like cooking dinner tonight?

One of the perks of living in Aura is the access to great restaurants without even leaving the building. That being said, we wanted to give you a taste of what our favourite Italian eatery in our building is like, and why you should go try Scaddabush.

The restaurant gets its name from a common Italian slang word which means “a little bit of this, a little bit of that” - a classic approach to cooking for those who come from the land of pizza and pasta. This is exactly what you can expect from Scaddabush since their menu is huge!

Two signature items on the menu include their meatballs and mozzarella. The half-pound meatballs are made with a “special Sunday sauce” and are cooked with all fresh ingredients like ground chuck, ricotta and porcini mushrooms. You can choose to get their classic, pepperoni or mozzarella-stuffed meatball served by itself, on a bun or on top of spaghetti. At the mention of mozzarella, we’ll have you know they make it fresh every day. The mozzarella comes with a number of dishes on the menu but can also be ordered by itself in a variety of ways including naked (olive oil with tomato jam, sea salt and crostini) and Buratta (honey and truffle cream with crostini) - hungry yet?

The menu includes shared dishes, fresh salads and pastas, a number of mains, but a definite crowd favourite is their pizzas. All the pizzas they offer are unique from each other and can appeal to carnivores and vegetarians alike. One fun fact about Scaddabush’s pizzas is that they’re shaped like a long oval rather than your classic pizza pie!

If you plan to frequently dine at Scaddabush, you can join their Social Club. The Social Club sends gives you exclusive perks and information on specials and events, and not to mention a $10 off coupon when you sign up! During the World Cup they’ve been running a special promotion every day (ending July 13th) where you can get a pizza and a pint for $19.

So, whether you want to catch a game or grab a bite for dinner, head to Scaddabush for some home-cooked eats while you’re still (kind of) at home in Aura, and sign up for their Social Club program so you can make the most of having classic Italian food right in your lobby.
